Purmerend – The attractive city centre tells a lot about the rich history of Purmerend. In 1484, Purmerend was the only place in the region to be given market rights and each square had its own market destination: Cheese Market, Sheep Market, Fish Market and Cow Market. Today you can enjoy the local markets, city walks, nature cycling and a trendy place to have a drink or pleasant evening out on the Koemarkt square.
Beemster - Today Beemster is best known for its UNESCO World Heritage status and its world-famous Beemster Cheese. Do you have a taste for cheese? Learn how Beemster Cheese is made and try it for yourself in the Beemster Cheese factory.

Discover the impressive museums (Stedelijk, art from Rembrandt or Van Gogh). Relax on a romantic canal cruise. Take in the Dutch artistic heritage in The Jordaan and boutique shops in De 9 Straatjes. Or simply indulge yourself in one of the local markets, strolling through the Red Light District or bar-hopping through Amsterdam's many bars and nightclubs!
